With the encouragement of our Life Group leaders, we recently asked people who are in Life Groups at Grace Point to fill out a brief survey about their Life Group experience. The goal was to get some honest, thoughtful reflections on how we measure up to this picture of Life Groups at Grace Point:
A Life Group is a small group of people that get together regularly to have fun, develop closer relationships, and to challenge each other to grow in their walk with Christ.
99 people filled out the survey, which is nearly half of those in Life Groups at Grace Point. I was very excited to see the results, and want to share some of them with you here.
Who participates in Life Groups…
- 75% report attending Grace Point for 3 or more years.
- 80% report attending their Life Group 3-4 times per month.
- 20% report that their current Life Group is the first one they have ever been a part of.
On their desire/ability to “get together regularly”…
- 80% are excited to attend Life Group each week.
- 85% are “re-energized” after attending Life Group.
- 25% have trouble attending Life Group regularly due to work/school schedule.
- 35% have trouble attending Life Group regularly due to other family activities.
- 20% thought they might enjoy trying another Life Group.
On developing “closer relationships” in the group…
- 80% said that their Life Group feels like a part of their extended family.
- 85% said that their Life Group always has room to add one more family.
- 87% said that the people in their Life Group are growing closer to each other.
- 95% said that the people in their Life Group are generally open and transparent with each other.
On their “walk with Christ”…
- 90% said that the content of the studies done in Life Group helps them mature as a Christian.
- 96% said that the people in their Life Group are growing closer to Christ.
I’ll be adding some more posts in the coming days with some conclusions we may be able to draw from this survey as well as some of the amazing, encouraging comments people had about their Groups and leaders! I’ll also be sending each Life Group leader any results specific to their group.
