God is at work…really!

I believe that sometimes we forget that God really is at work among us, that He really does work in small ways and huge ones.  We can get so caught up in the very real struggles of life that we forget we serve a powerful, caring, personal God.  But sometimes we are reminded.

I have had the privilege of exchanging emails with someone at church who has kept me up to date on her recent search for a new job.  Her journey has been on has been long, confusing, discouraging…and also quite amazing!  She struggled with belief and trust and many other emotions along the way, but with the help of her family recently pursued and secured a job.  Her email to me today included some lessons she has learned along the way.  I hope they can be a blessing to you as they were to me!

Here they are:

  1. Do not ignore something you feel God may have pressed upon your heart.
  2. No time is wasted in prayer.
  3. All you have to do is look and you will see the hand of God at work.
  4. You have to have faith that even if it is not exactly what you may be seeking that God has your best interest at heart.
  5. If you trust him he will able to move more effectively in your life.

Praise God for His work in the life of this saint!  Sometimes we need the reminder!

It reminds me of the parable of the talents (Matthew 25) Mike. If we are faithful with a few things, He will gladly give us more to do. If we take those first small steps, He will reveal the next step for us to take.

I think #1 is where I have to focus most. If you feel like you have something on your heart as the next step, you need to take it so God can continue his work. Don’t stall the process by not taking the next step God wants you to take. Sometimes it is hard to hear because it may not be the answer I was expecting (wanting).

    Thanks Tom.

I OFTEN have to remind myself that God works in small way–more perhaps than in big ways. Thanks for the reminder Tom.
