The 5th day of reading in the Outflow book included the story of Mary pouring expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet. In her case, there was “nothing in it for Mary but the pure joy of showing her Lord what he meant to her” (p. 47).
When is the last time I did something for God that would not and could not have a single benefit to me? Something I would not be seen doing? Something I would never be thanked for? Something that would be a huge sacrifice for me?
