Tears in a Bottle

Bottle I’ve written before of the comfort in knowing that God chooses to forget my sins.  I’m so thankful that He doesn’t remember those things I’ve done wrong in the past.

But God does know and remember a great many things about me.  He knows my successes and failures.  He knows when I’m encouraged and when I’m discouraged.  He knows my joys…but He also knows my sorrows.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Psalm 56:8 (NLT)

For some, the tears we’ve shed over the years would fill a bottle the size of Lake Erie.  For others, a thimble-sized bottle would hold them all.  But no matter the number or frequency of our tears, God knows about each one.  He knows about the pain or disappointment that was the cause of each one.

Each tear is important to Him, because each tear was shed by someone that is important to Him.

When is the last time you literally cried out to God?  He is waiting patiently to collect your tears and replace them with His peace.  Don’t worry, there is room for a few more tears in His bottle.

I am SO glad that our God does not tire of tears, I cry when I’m very happy, when someone else is very happy, when I’m sad, when someone else is sad, when I’ve hurt my GOD, when I’ve hurt someone else… in other words..I cry ALOT!
