Everything will be be ok

I have been tired the last few weeks.  Physically, emotionally and spiritually tired.  The one that is most frustrating to me is my spiritual fatigue.  I feel like I’m going through the motions with God, not really giving Him my best.  I know He wants more.  I know He deserves more.  I know He demands more.

I was reminded this morning that in the end, He will have more.  In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul talks about the time when Jesus returns to us:

Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere. 1 Corinthians 15:28 (NLT)

Four words stuck out to me from this verse:

  1. Utterly: completely, totally, 100%.  Not 99.9999%. Not mostly.  Utterly.
  2. Supreme: not top 5 or top 2, but #1.  Supreme in power, in praise, in authority, in love.
  3. Everything: not most things, not everything except...  Every single thing!
  4. Everywhere: not just at home or at church or during my devotions.  Not just in Ohio or America.  Everywhere, all the time.

okWhen Jesus returns, everything will be ok.  God will reign utterly supreme over everything everywhere.  There will be no more fatigue.  No more half-hearted worship of God.  No more going through the motions.

God, I want that today!  Even if it is just a portion of it, I want it!  I want You to be utterly supreme over every part of my life!  Take away my luke-warmness and replace it with 100%, wholehearted devotion to You.  Help me to have a taste of heaven on earth.
